JRBGH to open patient lounge

THE JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) is set to open a lounge for patients as part of its modernization this year.

The lounge, worth P2.5 million, is created to provide convenience to the patients and their loved ones visiting the hospital.

Dr. Ramon Nery, chief of hospital cited the importance of the lounge saying it aims to give comfort to patients feeling sick or unwell.

The city hospital will unveil some of its infrastructure projects this year, including the intensive care unit (ICU) which is said to open in March.

The City and the Department of Health also signed earlier this month a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the city to utilize the allocated P198 million under the Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) intended for the city hospital.

HFEP are funds provided to health care facilities of the local government units for the upgrading of health facilities as well as providing training to health professionals to improve the access of people to quality health care.
