Misamis Oriental governor tested negative for Covid-19

MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano and Task Force for Covid-19 Chief Dr. Jerie Calingasan have tested negative for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) through the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT -PCR) test.

The result of their RT-PCR test came out on Tuesday morning, July 28.

Both of the Provincial Government officials also went through the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) on Monday, July 27, of which the result also came out negative.

The RDT and RT-PCR test were conducted after it was confirmed that an employee of the Provincial Capitol and two sons of another employee tested positive for the virus.

Emano is the secondary contact of the said employees.

Both employees are currently in isolation, according to Emano.

Meanwhile, Northern Mindanao has recorded 30 new Covid-19 cases as of July 27, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the region to 480.

Of the 30 new cases, one is a local case with travel history from Bukidnon, and 29 are returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF)/locally stranded individual (LSI) in Bukidnon (4), Lanao del Norte (5), Misamis Occidental (1), Misamis Oriental (5), Cagayan de Oro (8), and Iligan City (6).

The region also registered 38 Covid-positive cases were tagged as recovered, of which six are from Bukidnon, 19 from Lanao del Norte, one from Misamis Occidental, three from Cagayan de Oro, and nine from Iligan City.
