AN OFFICIAL of the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental has emphasized that the travel/road pass required in quarantine control points across the province has a maximum validity of seven days to continually monitor the health condition of persons coming into the province.

Lawyer Jeffrey Saclot, spokesperson of the the MisOr Provincial Task Force against Covid-19, said city or town health officers may grant seven days validity of travel pass subject for renewal.

But Saclot assured that the issuance of the travel pass is free of charge.

Governor Yevgeny Emano extended the implementation of general community quarantine until April 30 and imposed stricter implementation of home quarantine and travel pass across the province to prevent spread of the deadly disease.

"Governor Emano is doing his best nga ma-prevent ang pag occur sa Covid sa MisOr ug pinaagi sa pagmonitor sa health condition sa mga gasulod sa probinsya atong ma-maintain ang zero case sa MisOr," Saclot said.

Saclot said those who will go out of their homes to buy food, medicines, transact with banks and other essential activities must secure home quarantine pass issued by the village chief.

The home quarantine pass is only valid within the municipality or city where the person resides.

But those who will go out of their towns and cities to conduct essential activities must secure travel pass from the municipal or health officers as it will be presented in checkpoints in the province.

Saclot said only medical doctors are exempted with the travel pass compliance, but other hospital workers should be given priority when securing travel pass from the health officers.

He said those coming from Cagayan de Oro must also present travel pass issued by the city health office.

"Kung ang gina-issue sa CHO sa CDO is health pass that serves as travel pass kung mosulod sa MisOr. But, as to unsay system sa pag-issue sa CHO sa travel pass kung naay bayad or wala, I can't speak for them kay the Provincial Government has no authority over CDO," Saclot said.

"We coordinated with the PNP manning the checkpoints in MisOr nga if the title of the travel pass is health pass that is already valid. Pero kanang mga emergency situations that needs immediate medical attention pwede na walay travel pass," Saclot added.

Saclot also clarified that Misamis Oriental residents working in Cagayan de Oro or other towns within the province will not be recorded as persons under monitoring (PUMs) when they return home.

But Misamis Oriental residents who will cross the borders of the province to carry out authorized activities in Bukidnon, Agusan and Iligan City should be back within five hours, otherwise they will be recorded as PUMs.

"Naa man sa executive order nga when you come from areas with confirmed case of Covid, you will automatically be recorded as PUM," Saclot said.
