MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano has allocated P1.2 million for vegetable seedlings to be distributed to farmers as general community quarantine is still in place in the province.

Emano ordered the distribution of seedlings to help farmers continue their livelihood and increase their income.

“Ang isa ka pakete lima na ka klase nga binhi nga kini nga kadaghanon igo kini nga makakaon ug makabaligya para dugang nga income sa mga mag-uuma,” Provincial Agriculturist Apollo Pacamalan said.

Each pack has seedlings of okra, eggplant, squash, string beans and ampalaya.

The Provincial Agriculture Office (Pagro) is set to distribute 5,000 packs to 5,000 farmers in the province.

Pagro has begun the distribution amid the continuing threat of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

So far, 250 packs have been given to farmers in Tagoloan, 60 packs each in Villanueva, Jasaan and Sugbongcogon. Pagro will continue the next round of distribution.
