'Motornapping' eyed as motive in killing of fastfood chain worker

AUTHORITIES are looking into "motornapping" as possible motive in the killing of a fastfood chain employee on Gemelina Street, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City over the weekend.

The victim, identified as Aljon Gantalao, a resident of Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City, was shot by two still unidentified assailants who tried to wrest the victim's motorcycle but failed.

"Usa sa motibo nga gitan-aw is ilog sa motor. Giatngan ang biktima pero wala makuha ang iyang motor mao to gipusil," said Major Evan Viñas, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office.

Investigators said the victim, who died on the spot, sustained a lone gunshot wound on his lower armpit.

Police said the assailants fled the area on board a taxi.

Authorities are still looking for evidence to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
