Netizens urged to promote MisOr tourism

MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano Thursday, September 13, urged social media users in Cagayan de Oro City and in the province to promote the beauty of the various tourist destinations here.

Emano said social networking sites play a big role to effectively promote tourism to the world.

The governor also challenged the capitol workers to share in their respective social media accounts the different tourist sites of the province.

“Pinaagi lamang sa pag-click, like ug share sa Facebook sa mga kalihukan sa provincial tourism department dako na kini og tabang sa pagpalambo sa turismo sa lalawigan (You can help a lot in the tourism development of the province just by clicking, liking and sharing the tourism activities),” Emano said.

“Pinaagi niini, mas maila pa ang lalawigan ug mas ma-promote pa ang mga hiyas nga gasa sa kinaiyahan ngadto sa kalibutan (Through this, the province will be known for its natural gifts),” he added.

The capitol's top official said the provincial government is aiming zero-poor communities through tourism programs and projects.

Emano believed that through tourism, people in the province would be able to obtain and sustain livelihood and employment.

Lawyer Jeffrey Saclot, provincial tourism department head, said more tourism-related projects are set to be implemented and more tourist sites will be developed once the governor is given another term to serve and lead the province.

Emano earlier announced that he is allocating some P159 million for his flagship program next year.

“Lakip niini ang padayon pa nga pagdiskubre sa ubang hiyas sa Misamis Oriental nga mahimong dugang attraction sa mga turista ug dugang kapangitaan sa mga kabus (This includes the discovery of more spots in Misamis Oriental for tourist attractions and possible livelihood for the poor),” Saclot said.
