NORTHERN Mindanao recorded a 96.3 percent employment rate in October 2022, making it the highest employment rate of the region since October 2021, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported.
This constitutes an estimated 2.280 million employed individuals.
It can be recalled that Northern Mindanao logged 94.7 percent employment rate in July 2022.
DOLE-Northern Mindanao also noted a decrease in the unemployment rate in the region, recording 3.7 percent in October 2022, a 1.6 percent drop from the July 2022 unemployment rate.
DOLE Regional Director Albert Gutib said this is the lowest unemployment rate of the region since October 2021.
Meanwhile, the underemployment of Northern Mindanao for October 2022 posted at 12.5 percent, which constitutes to an estimated 285,000 individuals. This is lower by 25,000 individuals from the July 2022 results. (SunStar Philippines)
