Oro disaster team delivers cash, goods to quake-stricken areas

SOME 45 personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) will be sent to the quake-hit areas in Cotabato and Davao to deliver the P2-million financial assistance and goods.

Nick Jabagat, CDRRMD officer-in-charge, said 20 rolls of “trapal” or sakoline and over 1,000 liters of water which he said are the most requested assistance of the victims will be given.

Jabagat said the goods are separate from the P2-million financial assistance approved by the city council last Monday, October 4.

The CDRRMD’s water tanker is among the 11 vehicles which will be brought to the quake-hit areas.

The CDRRMD team will then turn over the assistance to the regional Incident Management Team in the areas.

“Sila na ang mag-distribute kay sila man ang dunay list sa mga identified earthquake victims (They will distribute since they have the list of identified earthquake victims),” Jabagat said.

The 45 personnel will be at the quake-affected areas for a maximum of 3 days to ensure smooth delivery of the assistance.

Meanwhile, Jabagat assured operations and emergency response of the CDRRMD will not be compromised with the number of personnel leaving the city.

“We have enough personnel left here,” he said.
