THE Cagayan de Oro City Government is granting a 20 percent tax discount to all taxpayers who paid in full before January 1, 2023 the basic real property tax and additional taxes accruing to the Special Education Fund due for 2023.
Approved by the City Council in October, the Ordinance No. 14389-2022 states that the 20 percent discount will only be granted to properties without any tax delinquency.
According to the City Council, the said ordinance encourages real property owners to make advanced prompt payments of their real property taxes in order for the City Government to achieve, if not surpass, its annual tax collection targets.
