RESIDENTS of Cagayan de Oro will soon be able to access the internet for free as the City Government and PLDT-Smart launch the Risecdo public Wi-Fi project on Monday, July 3, 2023.
Early this year, the City Government decided to start the implementation of its free Wi-Fi project in the first 50 barangays.
Barangay Carmen, which is one of the biggest and populated barangays in Cagayan de Oro, became the pilot test area for the project. At present, the installation of free internet connection in some barangays and public places in the city is ongoing.
The ceremonial acceptance of the Ricecdo public Wi-Fi project, conducted during Monday's flag raising at city hall, was led by Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy, PLDT-Smart Mindanao Relations head Judee Chaves, and Khass Navales, senior relations manager of PLDT Enterprise Mindanao.
