PDRRMO to continue monitoring gloomy weather

THE disaster office of Misamis Oriental yesterday, December 20, said the province will continue to experience bad weather condition as the trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) affects the province.

Fernando Dy Jr., head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), said the bad weather will remain until today.

The entire province, especially the eastern part, including Cagayan de Oro City has experienced intermittent rains and gloomy weather condition on Thursday.

But, Dy said no untoward incidents were reported due to the bad weather experienced in the province.

"Kaning madag-umon ug ulan-ulan sa atong probinsya tungod ni sa LPA so naay panahon nga mag-ulan like ganina kadlawon pero wala hinoon magdugay. Expected nato ni magpabilin sa Friday," Dy said.

However, Dy said the province will likely experience a good weather condition on the weekend until the Christmas day though he said localized thunderstorms is still possible.

"Sa 23, 24, 25 and 26 medyo ok atong panahon pero posible gihapon nga naay localized thunderstorms especially sa eastern towns," Dy said.

"Mas maayo man gyud tong nindot ang panahon sa Christmas Eve ug sa adlaw sa pasko para dili mabalda ang mga outdoor activities," he added.

Dy said the capitol's disaster office is also monitoring another LPA that would likely enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on December 27.
