PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. led the turnover of P123 million worth of various agricultural interventions in Misamis Oriental, aimed at boosting farmers' productivity and income in the province.

These agricultural projects include the P90.8 million Mapulog-Tuboran Farm-to-Market Road in Naawan town and P32.2 million worth of agricultural support to benefit 28 farmers' cooperatives and associations, as well as eight local government units from Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental.

"Tinitingnan natin kung ano ‘yung magiging problema sa value chain, how do we find savings for the farmer…‘Yun po ang tinitingnan namin para kung saan ‘yung mga kulang ay doon papasok ang DA, doon kami papasok at ibubuo namin ‘yung mga supply chain ninyo," Marcos said.

(We're looking at what problems might arise in the value chain, how we can find savings for the farmers... That’s what we’re focusing on—wherever there are gaps, that’s where the Department of Agriculture will step in. That’s where we will come in and complete your supply chains.)

The President further stated that the farm-to-market project is expected to improve transportation logistics and raise farmers' incomes.

First Community Cooperative (FICCO) Grains Processing Center manager Mervin Obsioma, for his part, shared how the farm machinery granted to them by the government will aid the farmers.

“This support allows rice farmers to rent a rice combine harvester at a minimal cost. Our cooperative is also committed to buying their palay at a fair price. We thank the agency for this valuable farm machinery that will benefit both our cooperative and the farmers we serve,” he said.

Apart from FICCO, the Samay Multipurpose Cooperative also received agricultural assistance from the Department of Agriculture–Northern Mindanao in the form of a hog delivery truck, which, according to the cooperative, will increase members' income and contribute to the improvement of their livelihoods.
