THE Police Regional Office (PRO) in Northern Mindanao has heightened police presence across the region to ensure peace and order as the new school year begins on June 16, 2025.

Police Regional Director Jaysen de Guzman has directed all provincial and city police offices to deploy maximum personnel in key areas in the region, such as schools, transport terminals, airports, seaports, malls, business centers, and other places of convergence.

"Our priority is to provide a safe and secure environment for our students as they return to school. We are mobilizing our personnel not just for visibility, but also to be ready to respond to any untoward incidents," De Guzman said.

According to PRO Northern Mindanao, more than 1,088 police officers will be deployed to man police assistance desks, conduct foot and mobile patrols, and assist in traffic management, especially in school zones and areas with high pedestrian volume.

"I am urging the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. With your help, we can ensure that our children are safe as they pursue their education," De Guzman said, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in maintaining peace and order during the school opening.
