A TOTAL of 141 minors were rescued during a six-day operation conducted by the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) from June 2 to 8, 2025.

The CCPO operations, covering all 80 barangays, were done under Oplan Bulabog and Oplan Bakal Sita with support from the City Government and various other agencies.

Authorities turned over the rescued minors to the Cebu City Social Welfare and Services. Their parents will be summoned and reminded to supervise their children, especially during the night.

CCPO Director Col. Enrico Figueroa led the operation in coordination with Police Regional Office 7 Chief Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan.

All police stations and special units joined the effort, which focused on enforcing city ordinances to prevent crimes at night.

The campaign aims to maintain peace and order in the city, particularly in the evening and early morning.

Officers inspected 2,259 establishments with 20 individuals issued citation tickets for violations such as drinking in public, urinating in non-designated areas, public nudity, vandalism and loitering.

Police also arrested a 29-year-old man in Barangay Mambaling for possession of a sachet of suspected shabu.

Maranan commended the CCPO for the operations and lauded the increased police visibility in high-crime areas.

Police said the CCPO’s coordination with other agencies strengthened crime prevention and helped improve public safety in Cebu City. / AYB
