A TOTAL of 281 beneficiaries under the Cebu Provincial Government’s Sugbo Negosyo Season 3 have each received P30,000 in livelihood assistance.

This was announced in a Facebook post by Sugbo News, Capitol’s official social media arm, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

According to Sugbo News, the second tranche of assistance was distributed during a gathering at the Capitol Social Hall, led by Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia along with members of the Provincial Board.

The distributed funds amounted to a total of P8,430,000 released through quick response (QR)-coded cards that beneficiaries can use in order to claim pre-approved business equipment and supplies from accredited partner merchants.

This mechanism ensures that funds are spent strictly on business development, including enhancements on physical stores.

Representatives from the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) were present during the activity, led by MCCI president Mark Anthony Inoc and past presidents Steven Yu and Kelie Ko.

Also in attendance was Department of Trade and Industry Cebu Director Marivic Aguilar.

In November 2024, the same beneficiaries received an initial P20,000 to improve their stores.

A third and final tranche of P200,000 per beneficiary is expected to be released following proper evaluation. This will be allocated for product development.

Sugbo Negosyo is a flagship livelihood assistance program of the Cebu Provincial Government with total funds amounting to P100 million. /CDF
