THREE individuals were arrested during a drug den raid in Purok 8, Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
The raid was carried out by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Bohol Provincial Office.
PDEA Central Visayas Director Joel Plaza identified the main target of the operation as alias “Ray,” 31, also a resident of the area, who was running the drug den.
Also arrested were two construction workers caught in the act of using shabu inside the drug den: alias “Romulo,” 39, from Carmen, Bohol; and alias “Jonathan,” 33, from Danao, also in the province of Bohol.
Seized from the drug den were 12 sachets of shabu weighing approximately 290 grams, with an estimated market value of P136,000.
Authorities also confiscated the buy-bust money, a cellphone used by alias Ray in drug transactions, and other pieces of evidence.
The seized shabu has been submitted to the Philippine National Police Bohol Forensic Unit Laboratory for chemical analysis.
According to Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA 7, the drug den was under two weeks of case buildup after they received a tip from a reliable source.
Alias Ray allegedly sold up to 50 grams of shabu weekly, with the drug den also serving as the place where clients used the illegal drugs in exchange for payment.
Charges are now being prepared by PDEA 7 against the suspects.
PDEA clarified that the person operating the drug den faces the maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine ranging from half a million pesos to P10 million.
Meanwhile, those caught using shabu inside the drug den face imprisonment from 12 years and one day up to 20 years, and a fine ranging from P100,000 to P500,000. (AYB)
