
FIVE farmers, who are identified as most wanted persons in Central Visayas with pending warrants of arrest for attempted murder and murder, were arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visaya (CIDG 7) Negros Oriental Provincial Field Unit at 8:20 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Barangay Nabinlod, Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental.
The arrested individuals are Felix Paraiso Diginion alias Felix Deguinion, 64; Renato Lariosa Mariño, 45; Daniel Abugan Alasan, 55; Julian Diginion Dela Cruz, 36; and Angelito Delosario Dela Cruz, Sr., 50, who were all farmers from Cogon, Barangay Nabinlod, Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental.
The five have three warrants of arrest for murder with no bail granted, making them number 4 on the regional most wanted persons list, and two warrants for attempted murder, each with a bail of P120,000.
These were issued by Honorable Judge Maria Myla Rae Santos-Orden, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 63 in the city of Bayawan, Negros Oriental, dated February 5, 2025.
The accused were turned over to the CIDG Negros Oriental Provincial Field Unit and the court that issued the warrants of arrest.
They are currently under the custody of the temporary custodial facility at Dumaguete City Police Station.
It is known that the five individuals were charged with five cases of attempted murder and murder following a shooting incident in Barangay Nabinlod last year, stemming from a land dispute that resulted in the death of one victim and injuries to two others.
The arrest of these most wanted persons is part of the CIDG’s flagship program, Oplan Pagtugis, aimed at apprehending the most wanted individuals by the law. (AYB)
