MANILA – The Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) lauded the country’s successful hosting of the 45th Asian Track Championships and 14th Asian Para Track Championships at Tagaytay CT Velodrome in Cavite.

“The Philippines is playing a major role in the development of track cycling in Asia. What I see is a nation stepping up, investing in world-class facilities, including a 250-meter indoor, homologated velodrome. This clearly places the Philippines among the emerging forces in cycling in Asia,” ACC president Dató Amarjit Singh Gill said in a news release Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

During the Gala Night celebrating the ACC’s 33rd foundation anniversary Monday night in Tagaytay, Gill presented a plaque of appreciation to PhilCycling (Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.

“I want to congratulate president Bambol Tolentino for his leadership, his foresight and his vision to make this happen. Well done, the Philippines,” Gill, who also serves as vice president of the International Cycling Union, said.

The new Tagaytay CT Velodrome sits adjacent to another UCI-standard BMX track which was built for the country’s hosting of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

“So far, so good, and in terms of hosting, we’re on cloud nine,” Tolentino, also the president of the Philippine Olympic Committee, said.

“Thank you to everyone who supported us. This is world-class and to host an international event right away makes it even more special”

Meanwhile, powerhouse China bagged four more gold medals to remain the overall leader with 17 golds, nine silvers and one bronze medal.

Japan ranked second with 5-7-9, followed by South Korea (5-7-6), Chinese Taipei (3-3-5), Hong Kong China (3-1-10), Uzbekistan (3-1-4), Kazakhstan (2-5-1) and Malaysia (1-4-1).
