The world’s biggest book sale is clawing its way back into Cebu, and it’s not playing around. From July 25 to Aug. 4, 2025, Big Bad Wolf (BBW) Books is setting up camp at GMall Cebu’s Atrium Area.
Here’s everything you need to know before diving into this badder-than-ever book bonanza:
BBW has moved closer to Cebu’s heart
This year marks BBW’s first time at GMall Cebu, a move sparked by one simple reason: readers asked. “There were customers who requested for a venue closer to the city center,” said Jacqueline Ng. “Cebuanos have always been welcoming of their feedback and we listen to them.”
Deals so wild they’re practically fiction
Expect up to 95 percent off on a massive selection of titles, from beloved bestsellers to fresh-from-BookTok faves. While prices are slashed dramatically, Jacqueline said what excites her more is what happens after the sale: “Even readers themselves don’t know the power of giving someone just a single book. You give a five-year-old a book about planets, and that single book could change how that child sees themselves and the world.”
VIP access
Want more reasons to join? This year’s #BBWReelChallenge invites book lovers to share their BBW book hauls on social media. The most creative, most liked, and most shared Reels stand a chance to win P5,000 in shopping vouchers for the grand prize winner, with 10 runners-up receiving P1,000 vouchers each.
Fresh titles, even for the book hoarders
Think you’ve seen it all? This year’s BBW Cebu promises new selections never before seen in previous sales. From 2025 exclusives like “The Pokémon Annual” to inspiring reads like Andrew Carnegie’s “Mental Dynamite,” even longtime fans will be surprised.
Every venue tells a new story
BBW switches up venues not just for logistics but to reach new communities. “Every time we move, someone discovers us for the first time,” Jacqueline noted. “There are still many people who don’t know about Big Bad Wolf. That’s why we go where we’re needed, even if we’ve been in Cebu since 2018.” And yes, fans often follow, some even traveling hours just to snag their favorite titles.
Every purchase helps a bigger cause
Through its Red Readerhood Program, BBW Cebu 2025 will be donating 1,000 books each to Boystown and Girlstown Cebu, supporting underserved children with access to books that inspire and educate.
Cebu’s young readers are growing up with BBW
One of the most meaningful things BBW has witnessed in Cebu is the way young readers have grown alongside the sale. “What we’re very happy to see is that the younger customers we have now were first brought in by their parents when they were six or seven,” Jacqueline Ng shared. “Now that they’re teens, they’ve become readers themselves and that’s the success story we’re proud of.”
The BBW Sale will run daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
