Batch 2018 ends 2015’s run

2018-XCHANGE Forex swept all its games in the elimination round by defeating erstwhile unbeaten 2015-Imperial House of Furniture, 85-67, in Division C of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association Season 28 at the Magis Eagles Arena on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Patrick Yu had a double-double performance of 15 points and 13 rebounds as Batch 2018 closed out the eliminations with a perfect 7-0 record and secured an automatic spot in the semifinal round. Xavier Tariman, Benedict Chua and Errol Pastor supported 2018’s offensive run with 18, 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Despite the loss, Imperial (6-1) also clinched a spot in the semis. Chaz Cokaliong led Imperial with 16 points, while Irvin Dwight Dumol and Lorenzo Miguel Otero added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

In another Division C matchup, 2021-Fadi defeated 2024-Kilat’I Refreshments, 66-51, solidifying its hold on third place with a 4-3 record.

The loss dropped Kilat’I to 2-5, in a tie with Batch 2023 and Batch 2025 in the standings. However, Batch 2024 still made the playoffs via the quotient system, securing the sixth seed. 2024-Kilat’I will face the twice-to-beat Batch 2021 in the next round for a chance to reach the semifinals.

Rey Fuentes led Fadi with 15 points, followed by Virgil Maynard Uy with 13 and Anskie-Mclouissse Espina with 11. Wilhelm Go scored 15 points for Kilat’I Refreshments, while Rezald Joshua Dacalos added 14.

In Division B, 2010-ZLREJ Trading buried 2007-Knox Steel, 68-47, improving its record to 8-2 while pushing Knox Steel down to 4-6. The two teams will meet again in the playoffs, with 2010 holding a twice-to-beat advantage.

Gabe Branzuela (21 points), Charles Divinagracia (17) and Jasper Diaz (11) led Batch 2010, while Knox Steel’s Karl De Pio and Michael Jaca combined for 28 points.

Meanwhile, 2006-Subtero frustrated a struggling 2K Cares.Org., 61-54, registering a 6-4 record for fifth place. Subtero will face 2012-Harley Davidson (7-3) in Sunday’s playoffs.

KMuel Dy and Jan Galo scored 13 points each for Subtero, while 2K Cares.Org. (1-9) had Albert Chua and Kim Chan scoring 18 and 10 points, respectively. / JBM
