THE Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office VII (BJMP 7) announced the promotion of 242 Jail Non-Officer Ranks during a formal oath-taking and donning of ranks ceremony held Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the University of the Visayas, Cebu City.
Spearheaded by the BJMP National Headquarters, the promotions — ranging from Jail Officer 2 (JO2) to Senior Jail Officer 4 (SJO4) — were conducted simultaneously across all BJMP regional offices nationwide.
Jail Chief Superintendent Luisito Muñoz, regional director of the jail bureau, administered the oath and commended the promoted personnel for their dedication, professionalism, and firm commitment to the BJMP’s mandate of safekeeping and developing persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
“This promotion is not only a recognition of your years of service but also a call to embrace the greater responsibilities that come with it,” said Muñoz.
“Continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and service as you perform your duties in jail facilities across Region VII,” he added.
The ceremony underscored the vital role of promotion in boosting morale and inspiring personnel to further enhance their skills and leadership capacity in public service.
Family members and colleagues joined the celebration, bearing witness to this significant milestone in the careers of BJMP 7 personnel.
Jessa, the wife of one of the newly promoted JNORs, expressed her heartfelt joy: “It’s both a joy and a pride to witness my husband’s first promotion. His sacrifices -- missing our anniversaries, Christmas, and our baby’s milestones -- have not been easy. But this moment makes all the worries and hardships of being a uniformed personnel’s wife worth it.”
