Bunny Levine, the veteran actress known for appearances in “Gilmore Girls,” “La La Land” and “Law & Order,” has died at 97.
Levine died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Tarzana, California, on August 20, 2026, according to her manager Brandon Kjar, who confirmed the news to CBS News.
Kjar said Levine was still auditioning at 97 and had worked as recently as June.
“She was a great and fearless actress and such a nice lady,” Kjar said, according to CBS News.
The Los Angeles Police Department said her death appeared to have been from natural causes, NBC Los Angeles reported.
Born Bernice Levine in New Jersey, she initially worked as a school librarian and teacher before pursuing acting later in life. She went on to appear in television shows including “Gilmore Girls,” “Criminal Minds,” “New Girl” and “Shameless,” as well as films such as “La La Land” and “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan.”
Levine and her husband, Bernard S. Levine, co-founded Actors Connection in New York City in 1991, an organization that helped aspiring actors build their careers. / JAT S
