CCCI launches marketplace app

TO TAP the digitally inclined market of consumers, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has launched its own marketplace app, aimed to connect its members to fellow members and to the public.

CCCI president Felix Taguiam told SunStar Cebu that vendors of the app are composed of chamber members for now. The public can buy from a wide range of goods and services from homegrown companies.

“The CCCI Marketplace App is a web-based, e-commerce platform that allows online purchases of goods and services including payments at the comfort of your homes,” he said.

The app was launched during the chamber’s general membership meeting on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021.

The CCCI Marketplace App is an inclusive ecosystem where members of the chamber can work together and do business with each other.

“It most importantly allows members to seize more opportunities by enhancing change and to be digitally competitive,” Taguiam said.

The app was developed by CCCI member Paulo Uy.

“(This is developed) with the Cebuano ingenuity to create defining business-to-business solutions, grow business and make people’s lives better and later, will expand to all,” he said.

Products featured in the app range from food to clothing, hardware goods and electronics, among others.

Twenty-two companies have initially joined the marketplace.

Taguiam said the web app is still in the pilot stage. He encouraged other members to go onboard as part of the chamber’s push for digitalization.

Meanwhile, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, in a separate forum, emphasized the importance of digitalization as a means for micro, small and medium enterprises to become more innovative, competitive and resilient. (JOB)
