MACTAN-CEBU International Airport (MCIA) on Monday, June 26, 2023, announced the launch of Cebu Pacific’s newest route that connects Cebu and Taipei starting June 23. This exciting development not only strengthens the connectivity between these two vibrant destinations but also caters to the growing demand for travel.
“We welcome Cebu Pacific Air’s new route connecting Cebu and Taipei with much delight,” Athanasios Titonis, Aboitiz InfraCapital’s chief executive officer assigned to MCIA, said in a statement. “This addition further strengthens our commitment to providing passengers with a diverse range of travel options and convenient connectivity. We are confident that this new route will contribute to the growth of tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Cebu and Taipei.”
Operating with a A320 aircraft boasting a seating capacity of 180, the new route flies, providing business and leisure travelers with enhanced flexibility and convenience for their travel options.

To celebrate the inaugural flight, MCIA sent off the aircraft with a water cannon salute and distributed giveaways to passengers. The event marked a significant milestone in the airport’s journey towards enhancing air connectivity and fostering stronger relationships with airline partners. (CSL)
