On the Jan. 19, 2023 issue of the Electronic Gazette of the Intellectual Property of the Philippines, the trademark application for “ULTRACOMBO” was published for opposition.
The “ULTRACOMBO” trademark application was filed by Hector “Buddy” Zabala, former Eraserheads’ bassist, and Raymund Emmanuel Marasigan, former Eraserheads’ drummer. It covers entertainment and merchandising services.
Zabala and Marasigan have been gigging as “ULTRACOMBO” where they perform the songs of Eraserheads. “ULTRACOMBO” seems to be a portmanteau of the title of the first Eraserheads’ album “Ultraelectromagneticpop!” and the title of that album’s last song, “Combo on the Run.”
Should no opposition be filed within 30 days from the Jan. 19, 2023 publication date, a Trademark Certificate will be issued for “ULTRACOMBO.”
