POTATO Corner, the latest acquisition of Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. (Pizza), launched a series of milestone initiatives to drive sustainable growth, all in line with Pizza’s Sustainability Framework, People Planet Pizza.
Key programs include the launch of its local farmer engagement program, Harvest Chips in partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK), and PC’s guest and franchisee engagement campaign, National Fries Weekend.
PC announced its partnership with GK, a non-profit organization that aims to eradicate poverty in the Philippines, with the release of its newest limited-time offering Harvest Chips.
Harvest Chips are made from potatoes sourced locally from farmers under the supervision of GK in Benguet, a province in the northern part of the Philippines.
The potatoes are then processed into chips by GK’s Enchanted Farm workers. Pizza acquired Potato Corner in 2022. Pizza currently has over 9,000 jobs supported across its value chain. (PR)
