

THE Cebu Provincial Government generated approximately P4.5 billion in income during the first half of 2025. This strong financial performance, detailed in a report obtained by SunStar Cebu, was released on Monday, July 21, 2025, by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office.
The total income, amounting to P4,522,054,810.95, comprises funds from both external and internal sources. External sources contributed P3,143,665,963.03, while internal sources accounted for P1,378,388,847.92.
Key external revenue streams included the National Tax Allotment (NTA), shares from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and NTA-National Wealth.
From its internal mechanisms, the Province collected P556,766,560.30 in total tax revenue. Fees and charges added P223,326,874.83 to the coffers. Bus terminals also generated P52,246,175.99, while district hospitals contributed P322,155,658.93 in receipts. Capital/investment receipts generated P1,378,388,847.92.
The bulk of the tax revenue comes from the real property tax, which the Province collected P340,740,510.72, followed by tax from sand and gravel and other quarry products, which amounted to P128,442,818.17.
For the bus terminals, the P52,246,175.99 is broken down into P37,597,033.97 from the Cebu South Bus Terminal and P14,649,142.02 from the Cebu North Bus Terminal.
This financial update provides insight into the Province’s revenue generation for the first six months of the current fiscal year.
