THE construction of Phase 5 of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) has commenced, said outgoing Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia on Friday, June 27, 2025.
This crucial phase of the long-delayed public hospital is expected to be completed within 240 days, or approximately eight months.
During a press conference, Garcia revealed that the P700-million contract for CCMC Phase 5 has been awarded to Dakay Construction and Development Corporation.
This phase specifically covers the construction of the 3rd to 7th floors of the hospital building.
While this marks a significant step forward for the CCMC, Garcia clarified that the construction of the remaining upper floors, specifically the 8th to 10th levels, will be the responsibility of the incoming administration. (Necolyn Claire Balansag, CNU Intern)
