THE Cebu Football Club (CFC) Gentle Giants have one last chance to make it to the Philippines Football League (PFL) Season 2024-2025 Finals Series by sealing the top 4 spot against Davao Aguilas on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Dynamic HERB-Borromeo Sports Complex.

This season, the exciting race is not for the top 2 spots, but is in the top 3 and fourth spots which are up for grabs until the league’s last matches this weekend. Cebu FC, One Taguig and Stallion still have chances to improve their standings, depending on how their respective last matches play out.

Cebu FC and One Taguig have the same 30 points on 9-3-5 win-draw-loss records. However, One Taguig goes into its last match as the third seed because of its goal difference (GD) of 21 points, while CFC is at fourth with its GD of 15 points.

Stallion Laguna FC may be at the fifth spot right now but it still has a chance to enter the final four. It has 27 points on an 8-3-6 card.

One Taguig will go up against Mendiola FC, while Stallion will face Kaya FC for their final matches.

Kaya FC tops the league with 41 points (13-2-2) while Manila Digger FC is at second with 40 points on a 13-1-3 card. The top 2 spots are pretty much set no matter the outcome of Kaya FC and Manila Digger’s final matches.

The top 2 teams after the double-round robin will get to represent the Philippines in the 2025-26 AFC Champions League Two.

The PFL Finals Series will be entirely different from the regular season and will pit the top four teams following the league’s last matches. Aside from the silverwares, also up for grabs is an entry to the 2025-26 Asean Club Championship or the Shopee Cup. / RSC
