A RESHUFFLING across 19 municipal stations in Cebu Province has been implemented effective Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Cebu Police Provincial Office Director Col. Christopher Bermudez said this has been the largest simultaneous change of command he has overseen.

Bermudez said the reshuffling of the 19 police station commanders was a result of various factors, including the long tenure of some chiefs in a particular municipality and performance levels of others.

The newly installed chiefs include Lt. Col. Juanito Alaras in Liloan, Maj. Joffre Grande in Tuburan, Lt. Col. Ruel Burlat in Balamban, and Maj. Khalev Sanchez in Cordova.

Other key assignments are Capt. Phil Restauro in Asturias, Capt. Jan Ace Layug in San Remigio, Maj. Kelvin Roy Mamaradlo in Dalaguete, Maj. Mariejin Calunod in Pinamungajan and Lt. Paul Birung in Santander.

Other appointees

Additional appointments include Maj. Mark Anthony Villanueva in Dumanjug, Maj. Genesis Aniversario in Moalboal, Lt. Kerby Neil Jann Bagnol in Alcoy, Lt. Valimyr Anton Tabian in Borbon, Capt. Dun Blane Tabares in Tabogon, Capt. Dennis Onasin in Boljoon, Capt. Yves Montejo in Sogod, Lt. Francis Russue Salvid in Poro, Capt. Jec Seares in Madridejos and Capt. Abraham Igot in Ronda.

Bermudez, along with Deputy Director for Administration Lt. Col. Eddie Recamara, led the turnover and assumption of office ceremony at the CPPO camp.

Bermudez instructed the new chiefs to continue existing programs, aggressively pursue lawbreakers, reduce crime rates and ensure the safety of residents in their municipalities.

Warning

Bermudez also warned the new station commanders against misbehavior, saying such conduct has no place in the police organization.

“I have confidence in your capability that you can all maintain and sustain accomplishment; that’s all I ask, more accomplishment. Let’s bring down crime, make this community or Cebu Province safe,” Bermudez said.

Bermudez also thanked the outgoing municipal chiefs, particularly cited those with significant accomplishments in areas like anti-illegal drug campaigns and criminal pursuit within their jurisdictions. / AYB
