A CEBUANO taxi driver has earned praise for an inspiring act of honesty after returning lost items of foreign tourists, reminding genuine service and labor.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, April 27, 2025, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Central Visayas (LTFRB 7) praised Melchor Panilon for his honesty.
"May the honesty of Mr. Panilon be as contagious as the smiles of the foreign nationals who fortunately left their valuables in the hands of an honest Filipino worker," LTFRB 7 said.
On Friday, April 25, Panilon, a driver of Modern Trans Corporation (Body 3799), found a valuable item left behind by foreign tourists in his taxi.
Without hesitation, he surrendered the item to the LTFRB 7 office along Gen. Echavez Street, Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City.
LTFRB praised Panilon’s act as the country is set to honor workers this coming Labor Day celebration on May 1.
The agency encouraged workers across sectors to emulate Panilon's genuine spirit of service as the nation prepares to mark Labor Day. (CDF)
