CEBU will experience generally cloudy skies with a slight chance of localized thunderstorms throughout the week, according to the five-day forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Visayas.

Pagasa Mactan weather specialist Ana Dumdum, in an interview on Monday, July 21, 2025, said while the chance of rainfall has decreased compared to last week, isolated thunderstorms may still develop, especially in the afternoon or evening.

Residents are advised not to be complacent and to stay alert for possible weather changes.

Based on the five-day regional outlook issued on Monday, Cebu’s temperature will range from 25 degrees Celcius to 32 degrees Celsius from Monday to Friday, July 25, with light to moderate southwest winds and slight to moderate coastal conditions.

The southwest monsoon, or habagat, continues to affect the western section of the Visayas, contributing to cloudy conditions over the region, including Cebu.

The monsoon flow is expected to persist in the coming days, maintaining warm and humid weather.

Meanwhile, Pagasa is monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) located 950 kilometers east northeast of Eastern Visayas, as of 8 a.m. Monday.

The system is within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within 24 hours. Its movement and potential development are being closely observed.

No weather warnings or tropical cyclone signals have been raised over Cebu as of this writing, however, the public and disaster risk reduction offices are advised to monitor official advisories and remain alert for thunderstorm bulletins. (Allyssa Doncillo, HNU Intern)
