AS PART of its fiesta activities, the local government unit (LGU) of Tuburan, Cebu, will be holding the 1st Mayor Aljun Diamante Inter-Collegiate basketball tournament.
The competition, sanctioned by the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi), is scheduled to kick off on May 24, 2025, at the town’s sports complex.
In a meeting held last Friday, May 2, at the Minnan Restaurant in Mandaue City attended by Cesafi commissioner Danny Duran, LGU officials, and team representatives, six schools confirmed their participation in the tournament.
These are the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers, University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Fighting Maroons, Benedicto College Cheetahs, University of Southern Philippines (USPF) Panthers, and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJR) Jaguars.
Municipal Councilor Wilfredo Diamante will act as the tournament’s commissioner with Julius Bragat as his deputy. / JBM
