A CONSTRUCTION painter was arrested in a buy-bust operation launched by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA 7) in coordination with the PNP Regional Intelligence Unit 7 at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Sitio Upper Banica, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Edgar Duhilag, who was found in possession of a large packet of shabu weighing 50 grams, with an estimated average market value of P340,000, along with the buy-bust money.
Leia Alcantara, PDEA 7's information officer, said they conducted a month-long case buildup on the suspect after receiving information from a trusted source.
Duhilag is allegedly capable of selling 200 grams of shabu weekly from his supplier.
PDEA 7 is continuing its investigation, and charges for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 are set to be filed in court. (AYB)
