THE 17th Danao City Council was recognized as first runner-up in the Local Legislative Award (LLA) Sugbo 2025 for Component Cities last March 13, 2025.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine Councilors League (PCL), who administers the program, recognizes Sanggunian bodies in Cebu Province for developing legislation that strengthens local governance.
The LLA Sugbo 2025 search covered legislative performance from July 1, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2024.
Members of the Danao City Council, along with City Secretary Cheryl Juanico and City Local Government Operations Officer Gemma Bermoy, personally received the plaque and the P30,000.00 cash award.
The LLA aims to acknowledge the vital role of local legislation in ensuring the effective implementation and sustainability of government projects and programs through sound policies.
The Danao City Council, under the leadership of Vice-Mayor Ramon “Nito” D. Durano III, demonstrated the dedication of its legislators in developing policies that benefit the community.
The SP Secretariat, headed by Juanico, affirmed its commitment to continue serving as a responsive, effective, efficient, and innovative legislative body. / PR
