THE 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Danao City won first runner-up in the recently concluded Search for Local Legislative Award (LLA) Sugbo 2025 in the Component Cities Category.
This year’s search covered the period July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2024.
The plaque and cash award in the amount of P30,000 were personally received by the City Council members, together with the secretary to the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Dr. Cheryl B. Juanico, and the City Local Government Operations Officer, Gemma Bermoy, during the awarding ceremony on March 13, 2025.
LLA Sugbo 2025 is a joint program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) that recognizes the outstanding performance of sanggunian bodies in the Province of Cebu in developing legislations that strengthen local governance.
It is important to note and emphasize the crucial role of local legislation in ensuring that projects and programs of the administration are effectively implemented and sustained through policies.
The City Council of Danao, under the leadership of the Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III, has indeed proved that we have working, dedicated and committed legislators who develop policies that help shape the community.
