GRIZZLED veteran Carlo Demecillo will be stepping in as a last-minute replacement to face Taiwanese Ming Hung Lee for the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Australasian super-featherweight title in one of the featured bouts on Aug. 9, 2026, in Big Yellow Boxing Promotions’ “Bakbakan Siete” at the Asturias Gym in Asturias, Cebu.
The 30-year-old Demecillo replaced injured Reycar Auxilio on just a few days’ notice.
Demecillo is an experienced warrior who has faced some of the elite fighters of his weight division. He has fought the likes of Carl Jammes Martin, Tasana Salapat, Jayson Mama, Satoshi Shimizu, Arthur Villanueva, and Sho Ishida.
He owns wins against Virgel Vitor, Junrel Jimenez, Justine Darap, and Jess
Rhey Waminal.
Demecillo suffered a third-round knockout in the hands of Martin, one of the top contenders in the super-bantamweight division, last May 16, 2026, in Taguig City.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old Lee is riding a four-fight winning streak after suffering his only career defeat in 2019 against Matthew Fondales.
Lee hasn’t fought since defeating Jason Tinampay by a first-round knockout late last year in Mandaue City.
Demecillo has a win-loss-draw record of 19-13-2 with 11 knockouts, while Lee is 11-1 with eight knockouts.
In the main event, hard-hitting Arlando Senoc (8-0, 7 KOs) clashes with John Rey Labajo (4-5-2, 4 KOs).
Also slated in the show, Deams Lloyd Valdez (2-0) takes on Zairus Esito (2-0, 1 KO), Aldren Aton (2-4-1) locks horns with Jimmybie Cais (4-4, 2 KOs), Venance Dances (1-0) trades leathers with Niño Jay Malbago (1-4), and Ruel Compuesto (4-0, 2 KOs) slugs it out with BJ Wild (12-6-2, 6 KOs). / EKA
