MANILA-BASED DMCI Homes is set to hire over 1,000 skilled workers for its first residential condominium project in Cebu City, Kalea Heights.
The company is actively recruiting construction workers, engineers, architects, accountants, sales agents and office staff as it establishes its operations in Cebu, also known as the Queen City of the South.
“We are committed to serving Cebu’s property market for the long term. This includes creating jobs and building a strong team of Cebuanos,” said DMCI Homes president
Alfredo Austria.
Unlike many developers that outsource construction, DMCI Homes takes pride in designing and building its condominiums using its in-house team. The company is a subsidiary of DMCI Holdings Inc., founded by the late engineer David Consunji, often referred to as the “Grandfather of the Construction Industry” and “Builder of Landmarks” in
the Philippines.
As the country’s first Quadruple A real estate developer, DMCI Homes holds the highest license issued by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, reflecting its financial capacity, technical expertise and extensive building experience.
“We’ve been preparing for this project for years, even hiring engineers from Cebu to train in our Metro Manila project sites. Now, they’ll bring their skills back to Cebu,” Austria said.
Landmark project in Cebu
Kalea Heights, located along Good Shepherd Road in Barangay Guadalupe, spans 4.6 hectares, with 3.6 hectares dedicated to open space — the largest for any condominium project in Cebu and in DMCI Homes’ portfolio.
The development is divided into four districts — Dawn, Dusk, Summit and Azure — and features open spaces nearly three times the size of Cebu’s iconic Fuente Osmeña Circle.
The project’s first phase will include the 41-story Leia Building, offering units ranging from 29.5 to 88.5 square meters and blending modern tropical aesthetics with urban convenience.
DMCI Homes is investing approximately P24 billion in Kalea Heights, with unit turnovers scheduled to begin in December 2029.
“We aim to stay in Cebu for the long term, continuously developing projects,” Austria said.
Kalea Heights is one of the developments of DMCI Homes, renowned for building quality resort-inspired communities in Mega Manila, Baguio City, Boracay and Davao City. / KOC
