OVER 4,000 job openings are up for grabs at the 2025 Labor Day Job Fair set for Thursday, May 1, 2025, the Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (Dole 7) said.
Dole 7 Director Roy Buenafe announced the upcoming event ahead of the Labor Day celebrations during the region’s gathering for the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2025 and the general assembly of the Central Visayas Association of Government Information Officers in a hotel in Cebu City on Friday, April 25, 2025.
“So far, dunay tay 43-ka local employers and more than 4,600 job vacancies,” Buenafe said.
The major job fair will be held at SM Seaside City Cebu on Thursday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate the 123rd Labor Day.
More than 40 employers are expected to participate in the job fair, according to Buenafe, with more than 4,000 job vacancies already confirmed.
Meanwhile, ahead of the job fair, more than 1,600 individuals have already pre-registered. The pre-registration helps job seekers to identify employers ahead of time rather than queueing in long lines to save time.
According to Buenafe, the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry has the highest number of local job openings, followed by the retail and service sectors.
For overseas employment, nursing positions are among the most in-demand, followed by the hospitality industry.
