A DRUG den in Sitio Bon-ami, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City was dismantled by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7–Regional Special Enforcement Team, in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group 7, around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

During the operation, three individuals were arrested, including the target and alleged operator of the drug den, identified as alias “Johnric,” 34, a construction worker who also resides in the area.

Also arrested were two men caught in the act of using shabu inside the drug den — alias “Kenjie,” 20, a high school student, and alias “Lee,” 40, a construction worker. Both are residents of Labangon, Cebu City.

Operatives confiscated 11 sachets of shabu weighing around 35 grams, with an estimated market value of P238,000, along with drug paraphernalia.

According to Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA 7, the drug den underwent a week-long case buildup after receiving information from a concerned citizen.

Alias Johnric was reportedly selling 50 grams of shabu weekly.

He was previously arrested in January 2019 by the Labangon Police Station during a buy-bust and was charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165. However, he was released after availing himself of a plea bargain.

The recovered evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 laboratory for chemical analysis. (AYB)
