Drug den raided in Barangay Pajo, 4 arrested

OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Lapu-Lapu City Team, together with personnel from Station 3 of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, raided a drug den located along Humay-Humay Road, Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including the alleged drug den maintainer, around 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

The target of the operation, identified as alias "John," 38, a construction worker and resident of the area, was arrested for operating the drug den.

Also apprehended were three individuals caught inside the drug den during the raid: alias "Gene," 45, a welder; alias "Christian," 28, a construction worker; and alias "Ali," 25, a vendor—all residents of the same area.

Seized during the operation were six sachets of shabu weighing a total of 10 grams, with an estimated average market value of P68,000, along with various drug paraphernalia.

According to Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA 7, the drug den had been under case buildup for a week after they received intelligence from a reliable source.

Once all necessary information was gathered, the anti-illegal drug operation was launched in coordination with Station 3 of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.

The seized evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for chemical analysis and proper disposition.

Violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165 will be filed by PDEA 7 against the suspects. (AYB)
