AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 arrested four people, including a Grade 11 student, after raiding a drug den in Sitio Sto. Niño, Barangay Labangon, on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 2, 2025.

PDEA 7 Director Joel Plaza identified the operation’s target as alias Jay-R, 42, the drug den maintainer, and his accomplice, alias Dodong, 43.

Also caught inside using shabu were alias Wendel, 19, a Grade 11 student, and alias Ariel, a pedicab driver.

Seized during the operation were 20 packs of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams with an estimated value of P102,000. Drug paraphernalia were also recovered.

According to Leia Alcantara, PDEA 7 information officer, the drug den was monitored for three weeks after they received a tip.

Jay-R could allegedly sell 15 grams of shabu per week. He was arrested in 2010 for the same offense but was released through a plea bargaining agreement.

The PDEA 7 warned that maintaining a drug den is punishable by life imprisonment and a fine ranging from P500,000 to P10 million.

Visitors caught inside a drug den may be imprisoned for 12 to 20 years and fined from P100,000 to P500,000. / AYB
