THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is launching a nationwide rollout of its MSME Bayanihan Caravan 2025, a training initiative designed to upskill micro, small and medium enterprises in high-growth areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), e-commerce, export readiness and sustainable practices.
In a statement, the program kicked off with its inaugural leg on July 15-16, 2025, at the Philippine Trade Training Center–Global MSME Academy in Pasay City, drawing hundreds of entrepreneurs during the National MSME Week celebration.
Through a series of intensive modules and workshops, the two-day event equipped MSMEs with digital tools, product development strategies and financial knowledge including taxation and Halal market access to help them compete in global and emerging markets.
One of the highlights included hands-on training using Google’s AI tools to drive business efficiency and innovation.
“The MSME Bayanihan Caravan 2025 is one of DTI’s commitments to bring opportunities where they are needed most,” said Trade Secretary Cristina Roque. “We’re working closely with our partners to make sure MSMEs get the knowledge, tools and support they need to succeed. We believe that through this, we can build a stronger and more inclusive economy.”
Carrying the theme “Asenso Negosyo, Angat Kabuhayan: Bagong Pilipinas,” the caravan is a joint effort with the MSME Development Council, Philippine Trade Training Center – Global MSME Academy and Go Negosyo. It also includes specialized sessions on the DTI’s “Green Moves for MSMEs” program, promoting sustainable and climate-smart business practices.
The MSME Bayanihan Caravan will visit key regions across the country in the coming months to continue providing targeted support and capacity building for local entrepreneurs. / KOC
