Another film to be shot in Cebu

FILM. I am happy to inform the general public that there’s another film to be shot here in Cebu and that several Cebuanos are slated to appear as stars. They may not be veteran actors and actresses but acting-wise, they are superb. The movie is titled “When Sadness Lingers,” but I can’t reveal the storyline yet.

DIRECTOR. Given the task to direct the flick is a fellow from Dumaguete, who is currently working in Manila. He is a multi-awarded filmmaker, actor, event host, talent manager and entertainer or performer all rolled into one. His name is Romm Burlat. You are free to check his impressive credentials in the internet. We have already met and I am impressed at how he talks as a passionate showbiz personality. His being a Visayan is an advantage in working with our local stars.

PRODUCER. “When Sadness Lingers” will be the maiden venture of a Cebu-based entrepreneur named Cha Muego. She’s the executive producer of this project. Assisting her are line producer Anne Angus and production assistant Luz Alaura. By the way, this film is also for international release so there will be English subtitles. Shooting starts soon.

SHOW. There’s a free show for all grandparents that sports columnist and Elvis Presley of the Visayas Raffy Uytiepo is putting up on Sept. 9. It will be held at the Robinsons Fuente activity stage starting at 5 p.m. Aside from him, the other entertainers are Jun Villahermosa a.k.a. Cebu’s Frank Sinatra, novelty singer Jun Villarta, veteran songbird Amie Filomeno and Herbert Buot a.k.a. the Perry Como of Cebu. Yours truly is the standup comedian and emcee.
