Food tourism has been one of the focus programs of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Department of Tourism, the American Chamber of Commerce and other socio-civic organizations.

Decades ago, the then Café Laguna in Lahug was near my Speechcom International Training Center. Thus, we often had our usual lunch and dinner at the place.

Café Laguna served authentic Tagalog cuisine that suited the Cebuano taste. It wasn’t long before Café Laguna — now Laguna Garden — expanded to other areas in Cebu.

Today, Café Laguna stands as a culinary testament in bridging regional Filipino flavors and Cebuano hospitality — offering a dining experience that celebrates tradition while continuing to evolve with the times.
