We celebrate Women’s Month in various ways. A few years back, the Zonta Club of Cebu 1 presented two musicals: “Women Legends” and “The Legends of Men.” I directed these productions alongside the USJR Dramatics and Cultural Ensemble, ALLEF. The performers included selected women leaders of Cebu, and the venue was the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu.
The fashion musical was a success, but more importantly, it carried a powerful message—highlighting the significant roles women have played in shaping the history and culture of nations. A sequel, “The Legends of Men,” followed, showcasing great heroes and male leaders throughout history.
The valuable roles of women continue to this day. More than that, history has shown us the importance of the harmonious partnership between men and women.
