A FEMALE ex-convict was declared dead on arrival in a hospital after being shot by an unidentified gunman at 4:31 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Sitio San Juan, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
The victim was identified as Fritzel Manongdo Escorido, 28, a resident of the area.
According to the Mambaling Police Station, Escorido was shot twice in the head and neck as she stepped out of her house.
Investigators are looking into illegal drugs as a possible motive, as Escorido was previously linked to the drug trade.
Police are currently reviewing closed circuit television (CCTV) footage and conducting further investigations to identify the shooter.
Escorido was arrested three years ago for an illegal drug case but was later released.
Reports suggest she may have returned to her previous activities, raising the possibility that the suspect is also involved in illegal drugs. (AYB)
