A 66-YEAR-OLD father was injured after being attacked with a "pinote" (machete) by his 41-year-old daughter in Purok 2 Avocado, Barangay Sab-a, San Remigio, Cebu around 11 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025,
The victim, identified as Rogelio Pepito Sr., and the suspect, his daughter Anabelle Pepito Arcenal, are residents of the said area.
According to the investigation by the San Remigio police, the father and daughter had a heated argument.
During the argument, the daughter allegedly used a bolo to attack her father, hitting him on the forehead and right hand, which he used to defend himself.
The victim was taken to the hospital while the suspect was arrested by the San Remigio police in a hot pursuit operation.
The pinote was recovered by authorities.
However, the suspect, who was detained and imprisoned, was released on February 8, after the victim decided not to pursue the attempted parricide case against his daughter. (DVG)
