THE FIRST One Town, One Product (OTOP) store officially opened on September 26, 2023, at the second floor of the Ayala Center Cebu. The One Town, One Product store gives shoppers wider choices and the opportunity to discover locally made products.
It is a permanent store and is managed by the Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative, a 50-year-old, multi-awarded and heavily diversified cooperative that has been revered as a model for sustainable development.
Processed food, home and fashion items including artisanal products, arts and crafts, agri-based products, wellness and personal care products are among the items sold in the DTI OTOP store, a government program inspired by Japan’s One Village, One Product project. Only products approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are sold in the DTI OTOP store.
By providing a permanent space for the first DTI OTOP store in Cebu, Ayala Center Cebu and Alagang AyalaLand is helping small and micro entrepreneurs innovate and promote their products and services to its market including local and foreign tourists, and balikbayans. The DTI OTOP program aims to help micro, small and medium scale enterprises drive local economic growth.
