

A 60-YEAR-OLD woman, who has been considered a high-value individual, was arrested in a drug bust in Purok Greenville, Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City, Cebu at 9:55 a.m. Sunday, June 1, 2025.
The suspect was identified as "Alias Nanay," a resident of Barangay San Isidro.
Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Special Enforcement Team and the Talisay City Police Station confiscated four packets of shabu weighing 100 grams, with an estimated average market value of P680,000.
Also seized were receipts from a money transfer service believed to be from her drug transactions, along with various drug paraphernalia.
According to Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA Central Visayas (PDEA 7), the suspect had been under case buildup for three weeks after her name surfaced in their investigation.
She was reportedly able to sell 100 grams of shabu per week from her supplier, whose identity is still being verified by PDEA 7.
The confiscated evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for proper disposition.
The suspect will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165. (AYB)
